How much acoustic foam should I cover my walls with?
This is entirely dependent on your application, room geometry, construction materials used contents of the room and the level of sound absorption required. Use our Contact Us form and we will help you determine the appropriate solution for your needs.
How do I apply the acoustic foam panels to the mounting surface?
For permanent installations we suggest using our spray adhesive found in our accessories section. We have found that applying the spray adhesive to both surfaces and allowing the adhesive to tack up before adhering to each other works the best.
For temporary installations we suggest an electric stapler with the ability to shoot nails or brads. The brads that an electric stapler fire are about 5/8” long. To affix to drywall place the stapler in the trough of the wedge profile and fire the brad. Repeat until the acoustic wall panel is firmly secured to the wall. The brad head will pull below the surface of the foam giving a professional look.
Are your acoustical products fire retardant?
Yes, Our sound foam is flame retardant and conforms to California Technical Bulletin 117. If our acoustical foam is exposed to flame it will smoke and smolder, it will not ignite.
What does NRC mean?
NRC stands for (Noise Reduction Coefficient). The higher the NRC rating of a material, the more sound the material can absorb. We are currently having our panels tested and will post our certified NRC values shortly. In the mean time we guarantee the performance of our products!
